CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010

Entry fee: �2 per event –payable on the day

Junior Coaching Squads

Starting w/c Sept 13th

Junior coaching squads to run after school for those who want to improve their skills and play more tennis. Saturday morning sessions will continue as before.

The coaching squads will:

� Have a maximum of 8 per group(red/orange) or 12(10yrs+)

� Run for 1 hour

� Aim to have groups of similar age and ability

� Run for 5 weeks each half term

� Focus on developing technical skills as appropriate to age and ability

The cost of the sessions will be �25 (MBTC members) �30 (non-members) for 5 sessions payable in advance each � term. 2 sessions per week can be attended if places are available. There will be an additional charge of 50p per session when the floodlights are needed

Mini Tennis Exploits 24th April

Well done to all the team members today. I hope you all had a really good time and that you didn't find the day too long. I know for the "B" squad the third set of matches were particularly tiring. You all performed fantastically!!!

Mini Orange Competition 25th

April

Well done to everyone for playing well today

and to all the parents for helping out with

transport, umpiring and supporting the players.

The Orange Team came away having beaten

Kibworth "A" 8-2 and

Leicestershire 10-0

The White Team were at a disadvantage from

the start having only 3 players but managed

3 wins against Lutterworth "B" with the final

result 3-7 and 3 wins against Roundhill with

the same final result.

Market Bosworth Juniors on the Leader Board Again!

As well as Team Winners we also had some individual winners at the Leicestershire Junior Awards.

Natalie Milner won the U14 Girls Grade 4 LTA Leader Board.

Tom Hall won the U12 Boys LTA Grade 4 Leader Board.

To win these they won the most points in grade 4 tournaments in Leicestershire over the summer season.

Well done!

Congratulations to our Juniors

Our Junior Teams performed very well in the Summer Aegon Team Tennis Leagues.

Girls U14 won Division 2

Natalie Milner, Elena De Fraja, Rachel Scott, Jenny Tasker, Alex Milner and Mollie Taylor.

The Boys U12B team won their division

Boys U12A team finished second to Ashby (despite beating Ashby head to head ), they had won

more games overall! I think we had the moral victory….

Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to all the team managers.

Mixed Winter U15 League Team

Also won their division, well done to Natalie Milner, Elena De Fraja, Rachel Scott, Tom Parodi, Matthew Evans and Nick Evans.

Tennis Clubmark

In January 2009 Market Bosworth Tennis Club was awarded Tennis Clubmark.

Achieving Tennis Clubmark means the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) endorses and supports the tennis programmes our club delivers on court, and the policies and procedures we have in place off court. These are crucial to ensuring that the club is managed effectively and that we provide a safe environment for junior members to enjoy and play tennis.

Tennis Clubmark provides a framework to help clubs improve themselves, and to ensure

that our programmes, policies and procedures are all in line with best practice.

Achieving Tennis Clubmark is an important step for the future development of the club as it opens up opportunities for the funding of new initiatives.

Tennis Leicester Awards Jan 2010

Natalie Milner (aged 13) was runner up to Helen Thorpe (aged 16) in the Junior Girls Player of the year award presented at the awards night.

The awards were presented by BBC sports presenter John Inverdale on a night when more than 300 players, coaches, supporters and club representatives turned out at Leicester Tigers.

Natalie was nominated for her sucess individually in 2009 and also for her contribution to Market Bosworth as a team player for both the girls and ladies teams and the help she gives to the club on Saturday mornings.

A big well done!
